MJV+KLF=M&KV

It all started in August 2005 at Welcome week at Baylor. I was a freshman, Mike was a sophomore transfer. We met at the country dance in Burleson Quadrangle. Mike and his friend were the only guys who would dance with us girls (Baylor guys=strange!). My first impression of him? He's cute, out-going, interesting. His first impression of me? Party girl (I invited him to a Christian frat party that night!). I gave him my number, forward, i know. A couple days later we texted and had dinner on campus. I knew I wanted to date him when we were star gazing at the Baylor Science Building a couple of weeks later and he told me how much he looked forward to being a dad one day. Our first official date and when we had our "DTR" talk was September 16th 2005 at the Pi Phi Baylor Howdy dance!
9/16/2005- Howdy Dance, first official date and night of our DTR!

We got engaged on July 21st 2007 in Atlanta, GA where I was interning with a church in their student ministry. Mike flew out and surprised me with the help of some of my childhood friends. I was floored and excited!
7/21/2007- Engagement!

After a turbulent engagement that fall, I decided to give Mike the ring back in November and we decided to take a break to work on some issues we had discovered during the pre-married class at Watermark.

March 2008, we started talking again and after much prayerful consideration, decided to start dating. We both knew that if we got back together it would be forever!
Engaged again! June 2008

Engagement pictures!

We got engaged again in June 2008 at our "spot" along White Rock Lake in Dallas and got married 8 weeks later in Waco on August 16th 2008! Our wedding was small, simple and exactly how we wanted it. We got married at Highland Baptist Church, our home church in Waco. Mike's Campus Crusade for Christ leader at Baylor officiated our wedding. My twin was my Maid of Honor and only bridesmaid and Mike's best bud Sam was his Best Man. I was so excited to marry my best friend and start our lives together, that I begged him to skip out early on the reception so we could drive up to Fort Worth where we were staying the first night!
8/16/08- we are man and wife at last!

We honeymooned in Durango, Colorado... the perfect vacation spot after a long summer in Dallas! We hiked, relaxed, ate and just enjoyed being newlyweds (if you know what I mean!)

....and the rest is history!
